St. Felix and Regula Catholic Church in Zurich, Switzerland was built in 1949-50, by architect Fritz Metzger, 1898-1973.

The raised altar is surrounded by the congregation, so as to encourage participation in the Eucharistic celebration. The altar is moved forward for congregation to participate more fully in the litugry, despite being constructed 13 years prior to the opening of Vatican II. The oval shape replaces the earlier 'basilica' rectangular shape. The Baptismal font resides at entrance of the church.
The carved altar is the focal point of the church. Pillars support the curved ceiling and become part of the design.
