The Franciscan church, constructed of adobe, is named in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi.
A side angle of the tower and the crosses.
The sense of form is eloquently shown in this shot of San Francisco de Asís.
Another angle of San Francisco de Asís, constructed in 1815, showing the three white crosses and the white entrance, contrasted with the adobe walls.
The sculptured walls and buttresses of the back of San Francisco de Asís have been photographed and painted by artists of great renown, such as Ansel Adams and Georgia O'Keeffe.
The buttresses of this Franciscan adobe church are useful as well as interesting.
